We are very excited about what God will do in Austria. We believe that God is preparing Missionaries and AIM workers to GO and let the light of the GOOD NEWS shine in the country of Austria and all over Europe. We are looking forward to join with the Missionary to Austria, Bro. Charles Robinette to reach the lost in Vienna and the rest of Austria.
We believe that the harvest is ready and it is great, and eyes will be open to see, they will see the harvest and rise to the occasion.
When we went home this summer, we felt a very heavy burden for the youth and young people of Austria and Europe. My wife and were able to witness to the friends in Styria (Steiermark), and there was a great interest in the different look (long hair & long skirt) and the fact that we would go to church and not participate in drinking and smoking.
People in Austria have nothing spiritual or religious to turn to in times of need. They use Alcohol, Cigarettes, Drugs, Heavy Metal Music and Sexual Promiscuity as a means to drown out their pain. Kids (boys and girls), as young thirteen years and older prostitute themselves in the Karlsplatz U-Bahn Station in downtown Vienna. Statistics say that there are about 300-400 addicts there daily, exchanging as many as 2000 needles per day!
Austria has probably one of the best social network systems. But every year people die in their apartments unnoticed. I know of a firsthand account of a young lady in her mid thirties who committed suicide by taking medication, in her apartment in Vienna. She died last year. Her mother, who did not have great contact with her daugther, kept calling the apartment for several month. Eventually she contacted Vienna Police, who entered the apartment and found that she has been dead for several month.
Another young man in Styria was fired from his IT job in Graz after co-workers lied about him, he went home and committed suicide by laying himself on railroad tracks in the city of St. Marein/Steiermark. A good family friend, an Alcoholic for many years,
went upstairs in his small apartment, above the family owned restaurant, cleaned up his room and made his bed, than pulled out his gun and shot himself in the mouth.
That is reality. But I also know it is for a time such as this that God has appointed men and women to go to Europe to reach this generation. I have watched Videos the German/Austrian Conference in Nuernberg this year, France and Belgium and I have seen young people in services shouting, singing and praising God. This generation knows that the sins of their parents has not given them any hope in the future. But they are seeking and looking for something. We need to give them hope!
